Sun International offers coinless gaming by means of Smart Card Technology. A smart card is a plastic card containing an electronic chip, which can store specific information. Smart cards are available in Sun International casinos to make gaming much more exciting for you.

An MVG smart card is a personalised card, which is issued free to all players who sign-up to the MVG Programme. This MVG card can be used in all South African Sun International casinos. Most Valued Guests will have their play recorded and will be awarded MVG points when playing on slot machines and tables. Most Valued Guests are encouraged to use their cards at all times to ensure that they continue to receive the benefits, offers and rewards afforded to them.
Playing as a Most Valued Guest is easy, you can move between Sun International casinos, taking your cash on your card with you. If you have less than R1,500 on your MVG card, simply insert your card into the slot machine or present it at the tables and your card will be automatically activated to play in that casino. Any values over R1,500 needs to be transferred at the Cash Desk. MVG Points earned at all South African Sun International casinos are available on your card to redeem for rewards at any Sun International casino you’re visiting.
A general smart card has no benefits attached and can only be used in the casino where it was issued. A R10 deposit is levied for the general smart card, which will be refunded to you on return of the card.
How to use your Smart Card
Simply insert the card into the card reader with the chip facing upwards and the arrow pointing towards the machine. If your card is repeatedly rejected ask an attendant for assistance. A welcome message will be displayed as well as the total Rand value on your card. To load value onto your card or play a machine, insert notes into the note acceptor. You may now continue playing as usual.
If you have money on your card, the slot machine will automatically load a preset amount onto the credit meter, you then play the slot machine as normal.
The Autoplay feature allows you to continue playing without continuously pushing the “BET” button. Should you want to “CASH-OUT”, press the “CASH-OUT” button.
The credits on the machine will be automatically loaded onto the card and the card will be ejected from the card reader.
If the card reader light is red, an attendant should be called as this indicates a fault on the machine.
Hot buttons
There are a number of buttons on the front of the slot machine card reader. Press the number, followed by the tick key • for the appropriate action. To cancel the function, press the down arrow key.
